You want to provide as many ways for your customers to join your marketing lists as possible. Not only do you want to run a variety of campaigns, it’s important you offer different technology options as well.
The most popular method of opt-in for mobile devices is text. The customer texts in a code (keyword) to the designated phone number to receive an incentive. They are then added to that list so you can send them text promotions in the future.
Another popular method for customers to opt into one of your lists is via a web form. In this instance, the customer is sent to an online form (which should also be mobile friendly) to enter their name, email and mobile phone, as an example, to receive the incentive.
This option allows for more explanation on the web page of the terms and conditions for filling in the form and allows for attractive graphics to be utilized to further support your Brand.
Less common, yet extremely powerful, is a phone call opt-in. In this case, the customer, while on hold, for example, is given the option to use their phone keypad to enter their mobile number to be added to the list to get the "incentive".
This is a great method for businesses that receive a high volume of phone traffic and where customers need hold for a short-time before a business representative connects to address their need/inquiry.
